Can anyone tell me if this catalogue is simply a list or does it contain drawings? I’m interested in Vol.8. If it has drawings.

The British Steam Railway Locomotive 1825-1925 by E L Ahrons has quite a few drawings, most side elevations only, and photographs. Should be available second hand. Not sure if it covers what you are interested in.

Thank you for that. I like the early railway locomotives and although I’ve nowhere near finishing Jennifer Who, I’m thinking about the next one to build.

More years ago than I care to remember that was one of the earliest "serious" railway books I received as a gift. It's the one published in 1966. I still have it complete with dust cover. I can't remember the price but, for the time, it was significant. It was one of the first presents from the girl who later became my wife. A year or so later I received the companion volume by Nock for 1925 - 1965 again still in my library and with the original dust cover. As Fraser advises, both have drawings but quite random in selection and in many cases quite small and probably difficult to get any dimensions from.
