David Geen kits

Hi all GW coach kit builders, I have heard that the David Geen kits have been acquired by Blacksmith kits, so the range will continue to be available.

I gather from the RMW discussion, we are talking only 4mm, the 7mm stuff is not included, unfortunately.

Blacksmith did. I thought it was t’other way about, per this discussion.

The 7mm Blacksmith Kits went to Martin Breakspear who seems to have rubbished the entire collection in short order. I spoke with Dave Smith a couple of years after the sale and he lamented that it took 25 years to expand the Blacksmith range from the original 7mm Mallard kits and less than 2 years for the new owner to lose the lot.

Very sad.

I’ve built quite a few, they are “of their age” of course, but the detail is lovely, and with a bit of care and some grim determination, some good looking stock can be constructed.

And of course JLTRT are no more ( I can hear @Heather Kay breathing a sigh of relief) so toplights are no longer on the menu.

on the bright side, I probably don’t need any more.

Yes. The loco kits are with CSP Models. I don't know if Iain took on the entire range.

Ian did take over the coaches and wagons but I think that the re-emergence of the coaches is last on the agenda.
