This video is solely about the US market, the turkeys voted for Thanksgiving.

I understand Bachmann Europe are in trouble without Trump.

Do Hornby sell many of their brands in the US?

It does mean Peco have an advantage now as their tariff is only 10% at present. So go Peco for making in Devon!

This video illustrates nicely that abstract news have a very real effect.

I don’t think the tariffs are ‘abstract’ news. They are going to have a major impact on world trade, relations between countries and future employment and business prospects. At some level, all of our lives will be different.

I’ve watched the video. It’s understandable the industry is arguing it should be treated as a special case. I bet plenty of other sectors are making similar arguments that they should be exempt.

It’s also understandable that the video claims to be ‘non-political’. That’s absolute nonsense. The decision to introduce tariffs is a direct result of the choice made by US voters in last year’s election. It’s a political decision, rightly subject to political debate. The video is a contribution to that debate. I think it’s good the industry is making its voice heard, but nothing about tariffs is ‘non-political’.
