John, I've not noticed it until now, but are you planning to put in a boiler stay? Between the second and third axles, in Class A they were made from plate, and Class Bs had them cast in iron. On the first 10 (from memory) A's it was just a plate slightly tapered towards the top, but after that they had a large circular hole in the centre to aid access to the mud door. Only a simple plate but quite visible.

Hi Mike , I see what you mean now. They are still on the etch. I didn't however know about the hole in it though.

John, as for the hole, the first ones didn't have the hole, which is why its not on the drawing. Think it was the first ten, so if you have already selected a number for your loco check when it was built. But the hole does look rather nice!

My favorite of the LNWR tenders . I have one hanging on the back of my D , my excuse being that the LNWR would hang whatever tender was available on the back of a loco after a refit and i have a photo of one . Nuff said .
