Photo uploading problem

Morning all, I haven't been able to upload photos for a couple of days now, trying from two different physical locations (different servers/set-ups/internet connections) and on several different computers, both PC & Mac: an upload bar runs but instead of then seeing the photo below where I'm writing a post, it's a blank grey and nothing will show or upload. I've also tried resizing the images down to under 400kb.
Has anyone else had this and is there a solution please?

Thanks Dave, thing is, I've been happily uploading pics for ages without this and without resizing. Also, the image I've tried uploading just now is already downsized to 861x1007 pxls and 375kb.

I agree with Dave @Yorkshire Dave regarding the image size. Attempting to put up a photo with an apostrophe in the title won't work either and in one or two other instances I've had to juggle with the title to make it upload on WT. Yesterday I had big problems in uploading my normal type of post and kept getting the "Oops! We have a problem" notification. I copied the post to another file, shut down WT and restarted the PC. I still got an "Oops" message but persistence paid off. It was rather frustrating at the time but I suspect the issues were down to the Bl**dy bots.

Well I'll be a son-of-a-platelayer: thanks Brian, it was the apostrophe! I was trying to upload some photos called "Wills Platelayers' Hut" (having carefully considered the fact that the huts were surely intended for the use of multiple platelayers, so that the apostrophe should be after the 's'!) and removing the apostrophe has solved the problem!
Thank you both for your advice.

Even if the grammar is now unsatisfactory :)

A small lesson in picking one's battles, I suppose. I did also consider the fact that while I had had to remove the apostrophes from the photos' file names on my computer in order to upload them, those incorrect names aren't visible in my post on my workbench thread, where I have of course retained the apostrophe in the text of the post.

So in fact, had it not been for this thread, no-one would have known... ;)
