Anyone else noticed the not particularly long Brush Type 2 hauled freight with three brake vans in the background?

yes, of course. Discussed with railway historian friends last week.
Any chance of enlightening us on your findings?

Not knowing the location of the horse charity, I could only imagine the brake vans were being sent back to a larger yard in the East Anglian area.

Plus a nice selection of wagons in the Newmarket yard scenes.

A longish discussion on the reporting required of stock: a lot of the reporting daily to control - later BRB HQ - and the requirement to get rarer stock back to places where they could be distributed and back to customers. Was very important for brake vans as they were always in short supply and sometimes it was necessary to work brake van specials, but this would have been less likely in Essex, Cambridgeshire etc. away from the major industrial and mining areas, so just a couple would be useful. Just as you suggest.

Thanks Paul. Having since seen the location was described by the BBC as Larling (nearest station Harling Road) the direction of travel would/could be towards Cambridge or possibly March.
