2mm Binnegar S&RJR BR era 1960s layout

I visited the Weston super Mare Model Railway Show over this weekend and was quite taken by this "new" layout.
Built over a fiver year period by one person, I am sorry to say I did not get his name, and was at its first exhibition. The signals were very well modelled and the layout shows how Peco code 55 can be made to look realistic.
Very impressive with many prototype trains running.
Thought I would share it with fellow WTs, sorry about some of the shadows.

It's not just the code 55, although that helps a lot, the whole thing is nicely laid out, coloured realistically and looks like a model of the real thing, not a toy train set.
Did it run well?

I too was at the show, and I too was impressed with Binegar. Unfortunately I didn't see it running

In answer to Rob and David, yes it did. The 9F and 8F ran beautifully as you would expect from latest generation Bachmann and Dapol.
I do apologise for the quality of the photos, it was just my phone camera.

2mm certainly can give the feeling of space. It looks like a very good model, thanks for sharing those photos, it looks worth trying to see

No, not really. I was close to this layout last year at a show in Bristol. It's very well done from a layout point of view but what really stood out was the quality of the woodwork supporting the layout and lighting. It was beautifully done and really well finished. I'll try and find some photos on't Web.

My recollection is that the layout is designed to be operated from a sitting position. All very civilised

Hi Chris, in terms of height from ground it is not that low. I think I had my phone up a little higher and I'm sure the boards were roughly at mid torso height to me. I'm 5'8". Again I apologise for quality as my phone camera struggled with the lighting and shadows.
Rob you are very right the carpentry is very good.
I thought the layout owner said it was the first exhibition, what state was it in when you saw it?
