Right...i was just about to join the g1mra as i'm venturing back into 1/32 modeling, anyhow i'd almost finshed my online membership form and noticed the pink banner in the picture. (which is also at the bottom of the form)

Now those of us of a certain age will know what 'Nonce' refers too..

Are the g1mra aware of this ,or has the site been hacked /altered in any way.
I was going to contact them directly but there's no option for attachments.

Cheers,
Brian Tovey.

"Nonce' refers to a 'number used once' and is part of a Wordpress security system to prevent hacking.

Rather like the question………is ir rude to stare and read a persons tattoos IF yes….what's their purpose of having them on view?

Many years ago as a junior clerk in a firm that offered cooperage services I was required to calculate “stopping without starting” charges which lacked logic at the time. Specialist terminology can bewilder the non technical person…

The Gauge 1 association does have some rather interesting STL files for 3d printing, which are available to non-members, and can be rescaled to suit another scale.

Thanks for the alert, Brian.
G1MRA's system guys say it's a Wordpress message, beyond either their immediate control or their web-service provider's.
By definition, existing G1MRA members never see it.

Accidental homonyms are an inescapable industry hazard - I recall Yahoo! losing a lot of European customers when it unwittingly applied a Nazi tag to a widely-used product, and wouldn't back down.
My feeling is that Nonce won't be around for much longer.

No worries David and thank you.

I'm a bit suspicious of the ole interweb's and was brought up to question everything and trust nothing...:D

Cheers,
Brian..

A bit of a misnomer to refer to the G1 Association!
Surely only a teeny bit of a misnomer, Simon?
It's organised by G1MRA members and sports the G1MRA Logo :)
But importantly it's open to all enthusiasts, not just G1MRA members.

Here's the corresponding support forum:
which deals with all forms of digital modelling and control (some in more detail than others).

Be aware that What You See is What You Get - like G1MRA itself, it cheerfully embraces all standards of modelling from Flintstones to Museum.

All here are very welcome :)

It wasn’t Simon who used that description, it was me and I’ll stand by it. Tim’s post stated “The Gauge 1 association does have some rather interesting STL files for 3d printing, which are available to non-members, and can be rescaled to suit another scale.
The Gauge 1 3D Circle has the website and files linked to. There are obviously members common to both groups but the G1MRA doesn’t host the files.
